Syl Johnson Suing Jay Z & Kanye

Syl Johnson reportedly filed a suit against Jay Z and Kanye West for a an uncleared sample of his hit "Different Strokes" which was used in "The Joy" on the Watch the Throne (Deluxe Edition).

The clearing of the sample was originally filed by Island Def Jam, however, it was for Kanye West's 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Numero Group tweeted about the situation saying, "Hey @kanyewest & @JayZ, thanks for illegally sampling Syl Johnson on "The Joy" and then crediting us(?). Have your lawyers call our lawyer," the tweet read.
